I don’t know how you find anime to watch, but for me it’s either a recommendation or I find a cute or funny clip from the anime in a meme video and that leads me to research what anime it is and watching it.
The same thing happened with Puella Magi Madoka Magica, this one day I was in a call with a friends and I decided to share my screen while I played osu!lazer.
He liked my gameplay and I asked him to pick a song. He told me he would like to head a Techno remix of the Tetris theme. So, I searched the beatmap listing for Tetris, and there wasn’t any good Tetris remix but there was this weird song called Mami Tetris by Nico Nico Douga.
I played the song multiple times in that session the song seemed funny. I really liked it, after the call was over, I found the song on youtube so I could watch the video, here take a listen too.
In the description of the video was some Japanese text googled it and it led me to the same video on Nico Nico and this version has lyrics, check it out here.
The quote that stood out to me was “If the Soul Gems turns us into witches. Our only choice is to die, isn’t it!?”
Interesting quote and I had to find the anime and watch it. The anime has only 12 episodes and I watched it with English dubbing in about 6 days together with my sister.
The anime is really good, and I became instant fan of it, and Mami’s death is really sad.
While watching the anime I felt like the anime is bound to have some video game adaptations. I googled and Madoka Magica Fandom wiki told me there are only 4 games.

- Madoka Magica The Battle Pentagram (PS Vita)
The list felt short but maybe the games are really good right? So, first game I tried was Madoka Magica Portable which I found has an unfinished English patch, playing it on my modded PS Vita in adrenaline (PSP mode) I didn’t really enjoy playing the game, it’s a 3D dungeon crawler, and I was looking for something more energetic.
The Mobage and Online I didn’t bother much with them since they seem dead or uninteresting.
And then there is The Battle Pentagram a Japanese only PS Vita exclusive, the game is only in Japanese, but I read online that the game is fine enough to enjoy without understanding, and yes they are current this game is much better than the portable but this game is still not the topic of this post.
I still wanted more so I kept researching more and giantbomb has a much better list of games. I’m only gonna list those not mentioned by the fandom wiki.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story: Magica Record English version is dead at of 2019 and I haven’t tried the Japanese version, if I do, I will update the post.
The arcade game I didn’t even bothered googling.
Mami no Doki Doki Tiro Finale I found and apk of but it does not run on my phone running Android 11 (64bit ARMv7) nor does it work on my old phone running Android 4.0.4 (32bit ARMv6) should also try on ARMv7 32bit, but the weird thing is the app fails to install on everything I tried, and I even got multiple apks of if and not a single one of them works, the game seems to be made in unity3d though according to AndroidManifest.xml
Grief Syndrome is a fan made indie game and cute and fun but not the one I want to focus on.
Sekaiju no Meikyubey I haven’t yet tried even looking for the game. Might update the post if I do evntually.
And now after all this prerequisite we are getting to the games I do actually want to talk about.
Purella Magi Madoka Magica TPS
When I began researching these games and found they are official and how they look I was amazed, they look so stupid I need to play them so bad!
TPS stands for Third Person Shooter, yeah, it’s a shooter game including characters from Madoka Magica, the game engine looks really simple and stupid, but that is exactly what I like it reminds me of old games like DOOM, and the good old time when android phones were really weak, but people still made 3D games to run on them.
I was googling and found that HappyModapkScarica has apks of them, but they will not popup in the search I was searching for hours for them on my phone it was past midnight.
BTW I do no encourage anyone to download shady apks online I have experience doing this since I have been in the Android scene for quite a while.
But I thought the HappyMod website was a scam, they will say they have what ever app you are looking for but if you hit download you will get HappyMod.apk which is a virus, don’t install that.
Usually when I am looking for obscure android games online, I find them on some weird Spanish website, and I have to click the descargar meaning download.
But this time I have learned a new word scarica meaning download in Italian.
There seem to be three games

There also seems to be a triple pack including all three games in one apk but I couldn’t find it, but I have the three individual game.

The three games seem rathe similar but in each game the character you play plays a bit different.
Mami and Homura are long range characters, while Sayaka and Kyouko are short range which is an interesting twist.
I really don’t have much to say about these games you walk around shooting enemies and at the end of a stage a boss. You pick up weapons each weapon is different with advantages and disadvantages, you have limited number of bullets. You can only carry two guns. I should make a wiki page for these games since they are not very well documented online.
Uder each picture of a game there is a link to my Onedrive/Sharebox where I unploaded the apks I found online, I tried them on my device, and they work fine even on Android 11 (64bit)
These games made me smile, shake and cry happy tears, I am sorry if this post is rambly or stupid. I just really needed to talk about this.
